The music group Pachakamak was formed in 2000, by Luis and his younger brother, Ruben. They chose the name Pachakamak as a reminder of their inca ancestors.

Pachakamak (also spelled Pachacamac and Pacha Kamaq) is Quechua and means Creator of the World.

In the Inca mythology Pachakamak was the son of Inti and Mama Quilla and the husband of Mama Pacha.
His brother was Manco Capac.
Inti (also know as Apu Punchau which means Leader of the Daytime) is the Sun God.
Mama Quilla is the Goddess of the Moon and a protector of women.
Pacha Mama means Mother Earth and she is the Goddess of Fertility and presides over harvest and planting.
Manco Capac is the Fire God.
Quechua is the original language of the natives in South America.
