INSTRUMENTS
PAN FLUTE
The pan flute is said to have its origin in Romania but the ones Luis uses are all handmade, especially for him, in South America. They come in different sizes and notes, the bigger the flute the deeper the sound.
ZAMPOÑA
It’s the Spanish name for Siku, a traditional wind instruments from the Andes, made of bamboo.
QUENA
This is the traditional flute of the Andes, and dates back to the Inca Empire.
It’s usually made of bamboo. The Quenacho is a similar flute but slightly larger.
Also made of bamboo.
ANDEAN FLUTES
These wind instruments are best known in the southern Andes and they are made out of a tube of bamboo, cane, wood or bone.
OTHER INSTRUMENTS
In his music Luis uses other instruments as well, not only the ones mentioned above.
There is the Chinese Flute, Bombos (South American percussion) and the Charango,
a South American string instrument.
